The path of the gods allows us to go back in time to the era of the ancient Greeks.
The trek can start from the centre of Praiano and goes upwards towards the convent of San Domenico, crossing Nocelle and carrying on through the antique pathway of the Hellenic colonists, once dominated by temples until Positano.
This fascinating location has inspired lots of poets and writers. Italo Calvino described the path of the gods as a pathway suspended in mid-air on the magic golf of the “mermaids” furrowed to this day from the memory of the myth. It is with this quotation, impressed in ceramic that the pathway, a proud monument of the coast, starts.
The path of the gods hasn’t been touched by man, no one has dared profane the beauty of the location, not even the weather has been able to corrode the rocks that jealously guard the history of the people that once lived there.
The more sensitive souls can let themselves be transported and imagine themselves being in the era of the ancient Greeks. Imagine hearing the ship Ulysses sailed on reach the splendid waters of the Tyrrhenian sea.
Only the odour of the plants and vegetation could bring you back to the present.
Try our wine and savour the authenticity of an extraordinary territory. The divine coast offers patches of fertile land that have miraculously allowed the passion and love for viticulture be passed on, generation after generation.
You can try fresh whites and lively reds all transmitting flavours and perfumes of the Amalfi Coast. Vineyards and gardens, terraces and pergolas, hills and valleys that slope into the sea. Vertigo of panoramas immersed in a surreal fable of sunlight, sea and passion. Excursions to the best wine producers of the area are available to fully emerge yourself into the life of art, passion and poetry.
The Amalfi Coast from above the mountains, images you have only ever seen in photos.
Imagine walking on the terraces that, through the centuries have endured excruciating work from local farmers, characterising and modelling the scenery making it unique, just like the Sfusato Amalfitano. The Amalfitan lemon. One of the most prestigious in the world arrived here from the Orient centuries ago and is now recognised by the protected Europe Geographical Indication.
Feel the breeze on your skin and the shade of the lemon gardens protect you from the beating Mediterranean sun. During the tour, you will discover the phases of the production line: from lemon cultivation to the production of all the wonders we produce, of which the main ingredient is the Sfusato Amalfitano.
In this fascinating journey, you will meet locals that love and admire our wonderful territory, day after day. Strolling in the lemon gardens of the Amalfi Coast you will be able to admire the farmers at work and visit their laboratories, discovering the secrets of our typical products, from limoncello to marmalades.
An emotional day full of tasty treats and rich perfumes.
The village of Torre is where the path of lemons is hidden and is one of the most fascinating places on the Amalfi Coast, kissed by the sun in a panoramic location on the promontory that divides the two villages of Maiori and Minori.
If for a second, we decide to go off route and descend to their beaches we’ll discover a place where times slows down and we are submerged by the odours and rocks that suggest how life once was.
The antique road that connects Maiori and Minori was one of the busiest on the Amalfi Coast thanks to the cultivation of lemons.
At the peak of the pathway is where the intensity and quality of the lemons increase, old documents of the 17th century remind us, that the lemons and limoncelli are the most prestigious and abundant fruit of this territory.
The path of the lemons will allow you to observe first hand, the traditions and history that our lemon gardens have given us, giving you the opportunity to see how much hard work and sweat goes into creating the Sfusato Amalfitano.
The desire to travel and discover met with the need to cross the barrier of time is of paramount importance. The aspiration to explore and admire historic monuments gives you the opportunity to let us organise your private excursion from the commodity of the Hotel’s reception, from mini excursions in the local area to days out to inland Campania. We’d love to help you formulate and organise your perfect day out.
